Emails obtained under a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request show that the American Egg Board (AEB), egg industry executives, and an official from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) discussed several strategies to bring down Hampton Creek and its Just Mayo mayonnaise alternative, which outgoing AEB president Joanne Ivy described as "a crisis and major threat to the future of the egg product business" in an August 2013 email.
