The watch made waves this year as one of Huawei's big breakout product launches in the United States, paired with the Nexus 6P — which is also a hit, widely regarded as the best Nexus phone ever. Now, people familiar with the matter have told 9to5Google that the Chinese company is planning to launch a made-for-women version(s) of the watch at CES 2016, and has already begun development of a second generation watch scheduled for the second half of next year... So yes, more Huawei Watch options are coming, but don't expect anything but aesthetic differences compared to the Huawei Watch models announced at Mobile World Congress earlier this year (pictured above). From what we've heard, the women's variants of the watch will feature more feminine-looking bands, paired with a slightly modified rounder and more elegant watch case to match. Assumably, Huawei is also cooking up some new watch faces for the new variants of the watch to complete the look. If the women's Moto 360 is any evidence, at least one variant will be gold in color. Additionally, people familiar with the company's plans have said that the second generation Huawei Watch is already in development and is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2016. Details on this device are sparse at this point (considering it's still early in the product's development), but one source says that the company is working on a cellular version of the device — not unlike the tried-and-failed, crazily-named LG Watch Urbane 2nd gen. LTE. This Huawei Watch may or may not even see the light of day, but it's not a surprising move considering that Android Wear now supports cellular. As for the regular non-cellular version, I would be shocked if we didn't see incremental improvements to battery life and performance. We reviewed the Huawei Watch earlier this year, heralding it as one of the cream of the Android Wear crop. Even with the launch of the new Moto 360 under our belt, it's still a great holiday gift option with its 400 x 400 AMOLED screen, built-in speaker, detachable straps, and more. The watch is currently available starting a $300 on Amazon, and from $400 at the Google Store.
